KitchenDesk is a kitchen review site built on a simple idea: every gadget that ends up on this site has spent at least a week in a real kitchen before we write a word about it.
Who runs this
Maya Chen is a Toronto-based home cook who started KitchenDesk after spending too many evenings reading the same recycled review of the same wrong product. She doesn’t have a restaurant resume to lean on — and that’s the point. The site is built for home cooks by a home cook, with reviews grounded in how kitchen tools actually perform in a residential kitchen rather than under restaurant-controlled conditions.
Every gadget reviewed on this site spends at least a week in her actual kitchen, tested across gas, induction, and electric — because not every kitchen is the same.
How we test
Our authority comes from how we test, not from credentials. See our full Methodology page for the exact test protocols, the equipment used, the 5-axis rating rubric, and what disqualifies a product from a recommendation. Every review on the site is held to that protocol.
How we make money
We participate in the Amazon Associates program. When you buy a product through one of our links, we earn a small commission at no cost to you. We do not accept paid reviews or sponsored placements. Read the full Affiliate Disclosure.
